Bukit Keluang Beach

If you go to the beaches on the east coast of Western Malaysia (Kelantan, Terengganu) you'll be able to see that island someway, somehow. But I've no idea what it's called, nor the fact whether it is inhabited or not.

The Stare? The Glare?

This lil' guy is one of my cats, he and his brother was born while I was in Auckland. But due to unfamiliarity with us the owners (seeing that my Mum is asthmatic, and my Dad couldn't stand cats sweeping at his feet), he's absolutely scared of humans.

So I can sort of see the wariness in his eyes when I was snapping this photo.

But for one, he didn't run away (I mean a huge lens snapping loudly to your face is kinda scary...), in fact he silently went to sleep as I continued snapping.
That's when I thought to myself, "there's no mistake, he's definitely our pet!"

Battered Old Hero

Can you guess what this is?

It's the underside of our old garden trolley! All rusted out and battered, a hero in its own glory.

Itsy Bitsy Spider in The Sun

It was a fine sunny day yesterday, and my room was heating up quite a bit, even my laptop was heating up and was working on probably 1/4 of its original power and speed.
So, I decided to explore around this huge yard of our house and see what I can find.
While I was at it, I also discovered that it was actually quite cool and windy outside! ^^

After walking round and round for about 2 minutes, I found a superb, huge spider web shining under the blazing sun. And in it was this big beautiful spider.
Though I don't know what type of spider it was.

It was startled by me moving around the bush and climbed up the web.
In the pictures above and below, it was trying to climb back down to the middle of the web.

The spots are pretty right.

Local Fruits

When I was a kid, I remember reading the slogan, "Makanlah buah-buahan tempatan!" everywhere.
Well it literally translates as, "Eat our local fruits!".

And I love our local fruits. I think living in a country like Malaysia gave me the opportunity to try many different types of fruits that you can hardly (or can never, sometimes) find anywhere else.

For instance, you can only get frozen durians (imported from two oceans away) in NZ, while we are able to grow our own durian here at home!

And fruits such as strawberries and tomatoes are not exactly impossible to grow in a country like this...you just need to go higher and deeper in the highlands to do so
